The Voice: Season 10, Show 14

Some thoughts about last night’s elimination show:

  • Save for Emily Keener, who was eliminated last night, I was completely off on who would end up on the bottom. I had Bryan Bautista, Daniel Passino, Paxton Ingram and Nick Hagelin as candidates to be on the block to be cut from the show. Yet all of them were safe, easily so.
  • Neither Emily or Owen Danoff, who was also in the last two, had performances to remember in order to save themselves. I never knew what Pharrell saw in Emily, and while Owen was better, he was shaky and nervous in his performance of Ed Sheeran’s “Lego House.” Emily’s “Blue Eyes Cryin’ In The Rain” started bad and never really got off the ground to me.
  • After this week’s voting, it appears that Blake and Christina have the strongest teams, as all of their artists were saved. Christina may have the edge, as she has front-runner Alisan Porter on her team. I was really surprised that Paxton made it through for Shelton’s team.

As the weeks go on, these elimination shows will have more guest performers and filler as the number of contestants dwindle, so there may or may not be recaps of these shows. I didn’t do one last week, but I did one this time.

The final eleven:

Team Adam: Owen Danoff, Shalyah Fearing, Laith Al-Saadi

Team Blake: Adam Wakefield, Paxton Ingram, Mary Sarah

Team Christina: Alisan Porter, Nick Hagelin, Bryan Bautista

Team Pharrell: Hannah Huston, Daniel Passino
