The Smiley Thumb Award

While I was away, I was nominated for a brand new award. The Smiley Thumb award was created by David from the Chape blog, and I was given the nomination by my buddy Lisa from the Life Of An El Paso Woman blog. The Chape blog features fitness tips and exercises, as well as workout playlists—so if you are looking to get in shape, David’s blog is the place to go. The Life Of An El Paso Woman blog has been mentioned and featured many times here, and Lisa has guest posted here as well. Please be sure to check her blog out; she features music, stories about life in El Paso, as well as great Saturday interviews. Thanks Lisa, for the nomination!

As with any award, there are rules (always rules!). The rules for this one are as follows:

  • include the photo of the Smiley Thumb award. (Done!)
  • thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog. (Done!)
  • tell us what makes you smile.
  • nominate as many bloggers as you like.
  • include these rules in your post.

Okay. That seems simple enough.

What makes me smile:

  • Music (duh!)
  • Good times with good people and family
  • Dancing (again, duh!)
  • Good food
  • Kindness shared with and by others
  • Laughter among friends
  • Accomplishing a task or goal

My nominees for this award are chosen below. They may or may not accept, but here goes nothing:

Be sure to visit those blogs and take a look around; if you like what you see, then follow them! Thanks again Lisa for thinking of me for this award!

  1. Thank you and I accept!
I am so honored my Twin! I will get the ball rolling this Tuesday as I am currently working on something very special on the blog to honor my late mother for Mother’s Day; it will run on Sunday and Monday.

As I said in one of my very first comments after finding your blog, I am so happy that I have found my folks.

Any nomination coming from you is very special to me.

    Thanks again Brah!

      1. I should write a post on the lessons I learned about driving in El Paso. ALWAYS get uninsured motorist and full collision insurance because liability insurance isn’t going to cut it here. And drive as far away as possible from Mexican drivers who leave the country and deny they didn’t do anything wrong.

      2. I hate to say it but they drive pretty bad here. There’s accidents on I-10 every single day, at least 10 a day, 5 on a good day. The laws and even their traffic signs, laws are different in Mexico than El Paso. El Paso and Juarez drivers, geez! I love El Paso but damn! LOL.

  2. Dealing with a lawyer and a Mexican insurance company is even worse than dealing with other insurance companies here. All insurance companies are pretty bad but Mexican insurance companies delay things even longer. My lawyer told me it was going to be a LONG process. I’m not sure why but they haven’t denied my claim in writing once my lawyer got involved. The good news is that Mexican insurance companies supposedly pay more than the ones here.
