U.S. Blogging Event Poll

Those of you that have become regular readers of my blog know that earlier this year I was nominated for an award at the Bloggers Bash that was held in London last month. Some of you even voted for me, for which I truly say thank you and that I appreciate the support. Several WordPress bloggers were aware of the Bloggers Bash in London. Since some cannot travel to London a committee of six U.S. bloggers decided to put together a similar event here in the states. The next step is to find a place. A date has already been set; so if you want to be there mark your calendars for Saturday, September 2, 2017.

I’ve created a poll so that you can vote for one of six cities to host the event. The six suggested cities are: Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, New Orleans, New York and Washington, DC. If you are interested in getting together to meet other WordPress bloggers that you follow, or if you’ve ever said, “I would like to meet Blogger X from Blog Y” (or something similar), this is your time to be heard. You have one month, or until August 6th, to cast your vote for one of these cities. So let your voice be heard!

If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, please leave them in the comments and one of the committee members will get back to you. Please feel free to spread the word by reblogging this post and/or by posting it on social media outlets.

Hi everyone! Please check out this post…especially if you’re interested in attending the U.S. blogging event next September. Be sure to vote which city you want it to be held in. You’ll know the results one month from today. Please spread the word here and/or on social media.

      1. It needs everyone and I am so thankful! I will make it an effort to come for sure! I met some of my American friends last year but it would be amazing to have a lot coming together! That is a feeling I cannot describe!

  2. So excited for this event, and thankful for getting this survey out. It makes sense to centralize it, so Chicago seems like a good idea. But I live in PA, and am partial to the east coast. I guess it really depends on where the most participants are coming from ??? In any case, happy to be part of the organizing group. Nice to “meet” you, Tracy ☺ Van

    1. Hello, Van-it’s nice to “meet” you also! As of right now, Chicago has the most votes. But we’ll see how it all shakes out. Since I live in Maryland, Baltimore and DC would be closest to me.

I suppose we’ll be hearing more as the months go on, and thanks for helping spread the word!

      1. I’ve spent a lot of time in Baltimore, DC and NYC over the years, but I’ve been to conventions in Chicago… it’s a beautiful city. New Orleans would be fun, and I’ve never been to Dallas, but I’m willing to travel anywhere. It will be fun to see the poll results. ☺

      2. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been to all of the cities except for Dallas. Like you, I went to Chicago for a convention, and New Orleans for the same. I’m glad to see folks are taking the time to vote. Have a great day! 🙂

    1. No problem, Eli. We want as many votes as we can get, no matter what city you choose! We want those who are interested to vote, for sure!

You’re welcome….I am just one of a few people who are just getting the ball rolling for this type of an event. Thanks to you for voting!

    1. I LOVE the West coast! I just came back from San Francisco. I have family who lives in Los Angeles too. Those were the cities that several other bloggers wanted in the poll. I should’ve requested San Francisco!

  3. It took me a while to decide on my vote, as I’ve been to all of these cities and each would be fine as a location. In the end, I voted for New Orleans, even though I live in Dallas. Both New Orleans and Dallas are VERY hot and muggy in early September, so there’s that, but at least NOLA has its unique charm that is perfect for a writer. (On the flip side, of all the locations, Dallas would be the least expensive for those with an eye on the budget, in regards to air travel, hotel accommodations and dining.) Anyway, I’m beginning to ramble. Thank you for working to put this together…

  4. Hi,
This is a great idea. I would go if I were nominated. I know many people here.
Congratulations on being Danny Ray’s featured blogger. I was his featured blogger too. Maybe you can check out my blog if you need a blogging tip or two. That’s what I write about.

    1. Janice, thank you! If you are able, it would be good if you could attend, nominated or not. As of the moment, the committee does not have any awards or categories set up; it is still in the planning stages. I will definitely take a look at your blog.

I was Danny’s featured blogger? I didn’t even know! LOL…thanks for telling me!
