It’s a special day in the blogosphere…well at least one corner of it anyway. My blogging sister and good friend Lisa from the Life Of An El Paso Woman blog is having a birthday today!
What can I say about Lisa that I haven’t already said in a bunch of other places around this blog? Well, first of all, I’d like to thank her for the umpteenth time for her encouragement when I was struggling. I’d also like to say thanks for her help with some of my writing, for her suggestions, and her sense of humor. No one “rolls her eyes” quite like Lisa does, whenever I say something silly to her. She is one of my favorite bloggers and may have been my first regular reader.
I know she has been freaking out about this particular birthday for awhile now, but she’s got nothing to worry about! She thinks she’s getting old, but I think she’s doing just fine. I know from old! 😀 She’s not old; not even close!
I like talking about sports with Lisa. I didn’t know how big a Dallas Cowboys fan she was; it will certainly be interesting (read: full of smack talk) when her Cowboys take on my Baltimore Ravens this year. Not to mention the NCAA college basketball bracket challenge that she LOST (and still hasn’t paid her full debt), the NBA Finals, soccer, or the Olympics—she likes sports and doesn’t mind talking about them.
Best of all, she’s a great friend and a fabulous person. I’m glad we’ve gotten to be good friends over the year. Happy Birthday Lisa! You are a skilled writer, whose talent is only exceeded by her good heart, kindness and generosity. If it wasn’t apparent, I think the world of you. I hope you celebrate the day with your loved ones and have many more birthdays to come!
And a little something from one of your favorites:
