U.S. Blogging Event Details, Poll

The U.S. Blogging Event committee would like to thank those of you who voted for a location for this meeting of bloggers. If you are unaware, Chicago, Illinois was the city that was chosen to hold the inaugural event. It will be similar to the Bloggers Bash that has been held in London for a couple years.

Please note that the date of this event has been changed to Saturday, August 26, 2017; it’s a week earlier than the September 2, 2017 date that was previously set. At this time, we need as many bloggers as possible to let the committee know if you would like to attend. We need a firm number on attendance in order to find a place to hold the event. The committee has several places in mind, but want to get an idea of how many people will attend before booking one of those places.

To find out just how many people will attend, I will host another poll here at A Joyful Process. Please make sure to vote as to whether or not you will attend; or whether it will be you with a guest, or if you are unwilling or unable to attend. This poll will be closing on Tuesday, February 7, 2017; so you have one month to vote! Let your voice be heard again!

If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, please leave them in the comments and one of the committee members will get back to you. Please feel free to spread the word by reblogging this post and/or by posting it on social media outlets.

  1. I’ve always wanted to go to Chicago – on my Bucket List – and so attending the blogger’s conference would be great! Before I commit I’d like to know more about the specifics, costs, accommodations etc.
    It’s a terrific initiative!

    1. Hello Carol and thank you for your inquiry. You would need to book your own flight/transportation there. We are waiting for the number attending because we might have the event at a hotel. If we have it at the hotel, there will be a discounted rate for a room. You are also welcome to make your own hotel reservation. There will be a charge of $40 per person give or take for the meal (Chicago is somewhat expensive). The event is scheduled for Sat. Aug. 26, 2017. The number attending will determine an event location. We will know the exact location in February after this poll. Feel free to follow Tracy’s and/or my blog for upcoming details. We will also be giving awards at the event. We’ll have some posts on that in upcoming months.

  3. A US blogging event sounds wonderful, although I wouldn’t be able to make that date. I live in California so airfare may be expensive. I am attending an International Food Bloggers Conference in Sacramento in late September (even though I’m not a food blogger–the previous conference had useful sessions for any blogger. Good luck with the event!

    1. It’s a meet and greet/networking event with a meal. We’ll also be giving out awards for best blog, best blogger, stuff like that. I would love to schedule guest speakers who want to give blogging tips of success, etc. Please let me know if you’re interested in speaking.
