The Blue Sky Award

blueskytag

Many thanks once again to Lennon Carlyle at the Fabulous With Glitches blog for nominating me for this award a while ago (like, back when April was still new). Now here we are at the end of the month, and I’m just now getting around to this. Anyway, thanks to Lennon for this and be sure to check out her blog. You will definitely like what you see there; a blog full of her southern sass and charm.

Of course, with any award there are rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you. (done).
  2. Answer the 11 questions (we’re getting to that).
  3. Tag 11 people. (uh….)
  4. Give your nominees 11 questions to answer.

Here are the questions Lennon has given me to answer (and my answers, of course):

1.) Your two favorite movies? The Godfather and Do The Right Thing

2.) If you could have any car right this minute for free, what would you choose? Just about any Porsche will do.

3.) You are forced at a bar to sing karaoke, what song would you sing? Having “sung” Peaches & Herb’s “Shake Your Groove Thing” under the influence of gin and tonics…I won’t sing that. I’ll sing “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)” by Stevie Wonder. And probably sound about as good as I did on the Peaches & Herb song.

4.) Do you prefer talking on the phone or texting? Texting. Talking on the phone is overrated.

5.) Favorite all time Halloween costume that you’ve worn? Not a big fan of Halloween, so I don’t have a favorite costume.

6.) Do you like your job? If so, what do you like about it? Yes, I do like my job, and there are several reasons why I like it. I like the people I work with, I get to work with numbers, I’m not in the spotlight (meaning waiting on customers), and I am part of a team of people that serve the interests of the residents of my county. It is a public service, even if I’m not in front of the public full time.

7.) Did you go to your prom? If so, what was the best song you danced to? Yes, I did go to my Senior Prom, and I danced to “Billie Jean” (I think). That might have been (I say might) have been the song where I attempted to do the moonwalk. I certainly had on shoes that I could’ve pulled it off in.

8.) Which TV family is comparable to your family? At first I wanted to say the family on the old show Mama’s Family, but that isn’t really comparable. I can’t think of a TV family that’s like mine, and that’s with both fictional and “reality” TV show families all over the airwaves.

9.) What’s your dream Job? This one’s easy. Something involved with music, either on the radio or online, or writing about music for publication. Wait, I already do some of that now!!!

10.) If you could pick a new first name, what would it be? I’ve always given my mother grief for naming me Tracy, for all the times people called me something else (Terry, Troy, Stacey) and for the fact that it can be a female or male name (yes, I’ve been called Ms. Tracy Smith more than once). Yet, I’ve never thought of any other name to pick for a new first name than Wayne (which happens to be my middle name). And now you know how T. Wayne came to be.

11.) Leader or Follower? Having been a leader before, it bears a great responsibility to be respectful, forward-thinking and having the ability to make the big decisions. Being a follower means being a team player, but also willing to contribute to the group so that things the leader puts forth run smoothly. I’ll say a leader, but there are times that I’d rather be a follower too.

I’m going to bail on the last two rules, but if you wish to give your answers to Lennon’s eleven questions, feel free to leave them in the comments, or post them on your own blog. Just be sure to use the Blue Sky Award tag.

  1. Some of this I knew and some of it I didn’t. I honestly had to laugh at the whole “Terry, Stacey” thing. I can imagine the person saying, “Well I knew it was a gender neutral kinda name.” LOL!!!
And, you should loosen up about Halloween.
It really can be alot of fun!
